Road to Minimalism

March Empties so crossed off  Jan - red Feb - orange March - yellow I also came to the end of a few make up items here's an over view with a few bits that maybe aren't represented above picked up a few sampled out and about recently that I don't want hanging around for too long so my aim for April is to use up some of those.

So I took a bit of and inventory at the beginning of 2022 and created this graphic (yes it did take me all morning)  I have crossed off what I used up in January in red. i'm very happy, I managed to stick to my no buy in this area as you can clearly see I don't need anything but I did manage to avoid the temptation of the January sales. and here all the products I used up (some samples and bits that I didn't include in the other graphic for the year.) And here's the make up. I really want to see how long some products last me. I'm not looking to try and use any of these up as I use them daily so the longer they last me the better.   

 Toiletry inventory 2022 So a no buy should be easy this year right!  I mean look at all those products.... My Birthday is right near Christmas so in my defence I did get a lot of this with in the last month.  My method to tackling this is not to open every product. I need to open one and use it before I can move on. I seem to have face creams and hand creams open all over the place. but I do seem to be able to stick to this rule when it comes to body lotion and shower gels.  How is everyone else tackling this year.

 December Empties perfume and some makes up! whooooop I'm please that I manage to get though some of the loose samples and little sashays this month all ready for the new year.... I'm just sorting out the image for the 2021 Empties 

Year update here are my empties so far this year (2021) I am also tracking how long a product roughly lasts me so I know how much there costing me a year.  im not sure if im surprised by the amount here or not some things I have used up because I had them but others I buy on a regular basis and would buy again.

  June Empties So I set myself a goal that I forgot about which was 3 samples and a body lotion, well I managed two samples and a body lotion. so not bad considering I had forgotten all about it. this month I decide to make myself a spread sheet of the different categories of items I have and once I start my last of each category only then can I buy more.

 May Empties as you can see I didn't really make myself any goals this month. I think I need a few items to really focus on like some of the sample size stuff I have ect.  roll on June. goal 3 samples and a body lotion 

  In march I decide that I would easily manage to use two bath bombs and I wanted to use up the foot cream that didn't have much left in it. I though this very achievable all the other stuff was a bonus!  I have a few sample size bits, my goal for April is to use up at least 3. I think thats very do able. 

Feb Empties   This month was sooooooo much better than January. I gave myself a few realistic achievable goals! really helped in using a few bits up. last month I though I would be find but I wasn't motivated.  I have some bits lined up for march. although I'm now on my last deodorant so I had to order more! (but thats allowed. I have made myself the rule that I can only order more of a type of item when i'm on the last one!)  

minimal make up so this is my every day make up here is my make up along with my back ups (I was gifted a lot this Christmas as I didn't know what else to ask for) storage :D  very happy with this am hoping to make my skin care, creams, and toiletries to this level of simplicity! 

I've been looking forward to the new year! I've decided its a good opportunity to Konmari my things. I wanted to start on Skincare / Toiletries and Make up rather than Clothing, as i got a lot of bits and pieces for my birthday and christmas. Thought it would be a good idea to declutter and make some sort of inventory of my things. When i laid all of my things out on the floor i felt extremely overwhelmed. I had no idea where to start. I don't want to be wasteful ether so decided to try and get through some of the items that were nearly finished, rather than just throwing them out. Here is a video of me trying to sort through my things and organise them a bit better. I also found i have a lot of samples and sashays so have decided to set myself a little challenge. I have to use a sample everyday of January I don't have to use the sample up entirely but i have to use some of the product some are deluxe size samples so i want to make a bit of a dent in them.
